Dansgaard-Oeschger event

  • one of a series of climate changes during the last glacial period that occurred roughly every few thousand years. In Greenland ice core records, each event consisted of a rapid warming over the span of several decades and was followed by a gradual cooling. D-O events occurred in many other parts of the world, as well.
