Motion for new trial

- The Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure allow the defendant to file a motion for a new trial within seven days of a verdict or finding of guilt by a judge. The court may grant the motion if it is required in the interests of justice. No true bill: A proposed charge which the grand jury has rejected by refusing to return an indictment.
