- A support group of health-care professionals who helps persons manage diabetes. This team may include an endocrinologist, physician, registered dietitian, and certified diabetes educator (a certified diabetes educator can be a physician, registered nurse, or registered dietitian). Ophthalmologist, podiatrists, nephrologist, neurologist, cardiologist or other specialist can also be part of the team.
