The Abstract Windowing Toolkit (AWT) provides a collection of classes that simplify the creation of applications with graphical user interfaces. These are to be found in the
java.awtpackages. Included are classes for windows, frames, buttons, menus, text areas, and so on. Related to the AWT classes are those for the Swing packages.
