The court, on motion of a defendant or on its own motion, must order the entry of a judgment of acquittal if the evidence on a given charge is insufficient to sustain a conviction. The court may grant the motion if it concludes that, based on the government's evidence, no reasonable juror could conclude that the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
