Fibrocystic breasts

(fi"bro-sis'tik brest) characterized by the development of cystic (fluid filled) sacs and overgrowth of fibrous tissue in the breasts. This condition is commonly seen and considered a variation of normal. Also called chronic cystic mastitis, mammary dysplasia, benign breast disease, fibrocystic disease, and diffuse cystic mastopathy.
