A Supervised Lender is any person authorized to make or take assignments of supervised loans either under a license issued by the Bureau, or as a supervised financial organization. Our office only regulates non-bank mortgage companies that are required to be licensed with this office. The Maine Bureau of Financial Institutions regulates supervised financial organizations (banks, credit unions, savings & loans).
