property definition

The scope and behavior for a single element of metadata that can be applied to a resource. It can have an allowed list of values (a dictionary) that is restrictive or unrestrictive for the setting of the value. It can be either optional or required to contain data. All required property values must have a valid value assigned to them before they can be successfully submitted to the SharePoint Portal Server store. A property definition can also be specified as either single valued or multi valued, and simple ranges can be set for validity checking. See also: metadata, property
