Special Law District

A district created and governed by an act of the legislature; see the Special District Local Laws Code online. Also subject to the general laws of the state, but the special law will supersede the general law in various instances. Examples of such districts include specific county hospital districts, management districts, improvement districts, navigation districts, water supply districts, municipal utility districts, etc.
