carcinomatous meningitis

(KAR-sih-NOH-muh-tus MEH-nin-JY-tis) Inflammation of the meninges (three thin layers of tissue that cover and protect the brain and spinal cord) caused by cancer that has spread there. Also called neoplastic meningitis.
