Patent

Selling a part of a patented product or a material for use in practicing a patented process that is especially adapted for the patented product or process, done with knowledge of the infringement.

This involves someone supplying a component that is a material part of a product, apparatus, composition of matter, or process with knowledge that it is uniquely adapted for use in infringing a patent and is not a staple article of commerce suitable for substantial noninfringing use. Such person can be held liable as a contributory infringer if an infringement results.

Aid to another in infringing a patent (e.g., selling the infringer an essential portion required for the completed infringing device, material, article or process).
