Microsoft Exchange 2003

An Exchange configuration where clients access a bank of protocol servers (the front-end) for collaboration information, and then these servers communicate with the data stores on separate servers (the back-end) to retrieve the physical data. A front-end/back-end configuration allows for a scalable, single point of contact for all Exchange-related data. [Exchange 2003]
