pulsed FM systems

A spread spectrum system in which the RF carrier is modulated with a fixed period and fixed duty cycle sequence. Note: At the beginning of each transmitted pulse, the carrier frequency is frequency modulated which causes additional spreading of the carrier. The pattern of the frequency modulation depends upon the spreading function which is sweeping either up or down in frequency. [47 CFR 2.1]
