regional enteritis

(REE-juh-nul EN-teh-RY-tis) Chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, most commonly the small intestine and colon. Regional enteritis increases the risk for colorectal cancer and small intestine cancer. Also called Crohn disease.
