Unclassified cryptographic equipment, assembly, or component, endorsed by the National Security Agency, for use in national security systems as defined in Title 40 U.S.C. Section 1452. Type 2 products may not be used for classified information, but contain classified National Security Agency algorithms that distinguish them from products containing the unclassified data algorithm.
