1. oat cell Another name for small cell lung cancer. The name "oat cell" comes from the fact that the cells look like oats. See also extensive SCLC and limited SCLC.
2. oncologist (on-KAH-loh-jist) A doctor who specializes in treating cancer. Some oncologists specialize in a particular type of cancer treatment.
