  1. N00b An incredibly uncool way to say newb. Don't use it.
  2. Named A special monster that is usually stronger than surrounding monsters with possible special abilities and item drops.
  3. nares The nostrils of fish.
  4. Natural When the two cards total to 8 or 9.
  5. NBG - Need Before Greed, only people that need an item will roll dice (in case there are more than one player in the team that needs the item).
  6. Negative Progression Any system of wagering where you increase bets after a loss.
  7. Nerf To downgrade, to be made softer, or make less effective. "X has been nerfed."
  8. nest The spot in where are fish, such as a largemouth bass or bluegill, deposits its eggs. Some nests, such as those for largemouth bass, can be well defined.
  9. Neutral A term drivers use when referring to how their car is handling. When a car is neither loose nor pushing (tight).
  10. Newb Short for Newbie. See above.
  11. Newbie A term that sometimes means new player. Newbie is also used to suggest that a player is not very good.
  12. Niche Organisms role, or job, in the ecosystem in which it lives.
  13. Nickel (NIK-ul): A kind of metal found in soil and often used in alloys and in industry.
  14. night crawler A common type of worm used in fishing.
  15. night-fisherman An angler who fishes at night.
  16. Ninja To try to loot an item without other players knowing or paying attention. Basically, to take an item without permission.
  17. No Action A call made by a dealer that the casino will not cover a particular bet. Or that a particular spin or decision doesn't count.
  18. No-Limit A version of poker in which a player may bet any amount of chips (up to the number in front of him) whenever it is his turn to act.
  19. Noir French term for Black Bet.
  20. Non Not.
  21. Non Value Chip a casino issued gaming chip whose dollar value depends on the amount of the chips taken in a buy-in. For example, a buy-in of $300.
  22. Nongame Fish not considered sport fish and generally not regulated.
  23. nongame fish Include all the species of fish except the game fish (see game fish entry).
  24. nonnative fish A fish that is not native to Arizona.
  25. NPC This is a non player-controlled character. The characters are controlled by the server or realm. A "computer" character.
  26. Nuke A spell that can inflict a large amount of damage quickly.
  27. Nuts The best possible hand given the board. If the board is K♠-J ♦-T♠-4 ♠-2♥, then A ♠-X♠ is the nuts.
  28. nymph The nymphal sate of an aquatic insect, or an imitation of same for nymph-fishing.
