Nought
Astrophysics
Usually referring to the first value in a range, and denoted by a subscript, "0". For example, if something started off traveling 30 meters/second and ended up going 20 meters/second, then V0, or 'velocity nought' would be 30, and Vf , or 'velocity final' would be 20.
