Microsoft — MS Hyper-V Glossary

VSwitch stands for Virtual Switch. It represents networking entities connecting Virtual Machines in a virtual network at layer 2. VSwitch is not only fully virtual, since it can be connected to a real NIC (Network Interface Card) or NIC Team (grouping of Network Interface Cards to be used as a single NIC).
