An Serviceguard cluster is a networked grouping of HP 9000 series 800 servers (host systems known as nodes) having sufficient redundancy of software and hardware that a single failure will not significantly disrupt service. Serviceguard software monitors the health of nodes, networks, application services, EMS resources, and makes failover decisions based on where the application is able to run successfully.

A group of servers that together act as a single system, enabling load balancing and high availability. Clustering can be housed in the same physical location (basic cluster) or can be distributed across multiple sites (geo-dispersed clusters) for disaster recovery.

  1. In Data ONTAP, a pair of filers connected such that one can serve its partner's data if the partner fails.
  2. In NetCache, two or more NetCache appliances that are connected for the purpose of load-balancing of firewall and parenting functions.

E-Discovery

Clusters are fixed length blocks of bytes that store data for Microsoft operating systems. Clusters are, essentially, a consortium of sectors used to allocate the data storage area in all Microsoft operating systems, range in size from one sector to 128 sectors, and vary based on the size of the logical storage volume and the operating system involved.

(1) A total collection of objects each of which is within some metric distance of at least one other object in the collection. (2) A total collection of objects each of whose image on the focal plane of a sensor is within some metric distance of the image of at least one other object in the collection. (3) A set of objects with similar state vectors (based on truth). For example, a reentry vehicle and its penaids deployed at virtually the same time from a post-boost vehicle. (4) For BM/C3 purposes, a cluster is a group of objects any one of which can be engaged by an interceptor launched at the Centroid of the cluster, possibly before the cluster is resolved into separate objects.

Lotus Domino

A group of two or more Domino servers that you set up to provide users with constant access to data, balance the workload among servers, improve server performance, and maintain performance when you increase the size of your enterprise.

Technology› Operating System› Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Windows Server

A group of independent computers that work together to provide a common set of services and present a single-system image to clients. The use of a cluster enhances the availability of the services and the scalability and manageability of the operating system that provides the services.
