idiotype

An identifying property or characteristic of an item or system. 1.A plant form expected on physiological grounds to represent an optimal type for the environment in which the plant is to be grown. 2. A classification of antibody molecules according to the antigenicity of the variable regions. Each idiotype is unique to a particular immunoglobulin raised to a particular antigen.
