Southern blot

A nitrocellulose or nylon membrane to which DNA fragments previously separated by gel electrophoresis, have been transferred by capillary action. See: blot.

A technique used to identify and locate DNA sequences which are complementary to another piece of DNA called a probe. See also hybridization
